OUR SPIRIT

The District 9 Sobriety Gathering is bring you the spirit of our Fellowship's Legacies of Unity, Service and Recovery from this humble community and to promote connections to those in other areas of the state and whence you come and wherever one finds us.  We hope for and pray for blessings upon each and all who come forth to join us, "as we trudge this road of happy destiny."

Since the unprecedented circumstances of the Corona Virus Pandemic, we decided to plan for the two types of conferences, both a Virtual and Actual appearances of our speakers, friends and supporters.  And because of the Governor's stance of Public Gatherings, we decided to hold a Virtual Gathering in order to continue to carry the AA message to those who still suffer here in Western New Mexico.  Therefore, we are proud and honored to bring you our 2020, 7th Annual District 9 Sobriety Gathering and continue with our primary purpose.

ABOUT

Welcome newcomers, visitors, and travelers to District 9. We our area 46, New Mexico, USA. Our District communities are Acoma, Casa Blanca, Datil, Gallup, Grants, Laguna, Navajo, Thoreau, Tohatchi, & Zuni.

The District 9 Sobriety Gathering is the offshoot of the "Gallup Gathering," which was created and organized by Group out of California to carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous to the then suffering alcoholics in the Western New Mexico Area.  Since then,as they started this movement to bring us a legacy of service to this District, we have tried our utmost to keep this ball rolling.

Since October 2014, District 9-Area 46 took over the chores of keeping this organized and carrying on the tasks of holding an "Annual District 9 Sobriety Gathering."  And since we thought that once taken over the controls of our destiny, that we'd begin the numbering of our Gatherings from whence we began.

And therefore, since the unprecedented circumstances of the Corona Virus Pandemic, we decided to plan for the two types of conferences, both a Virtual and Actual appearances of our speakers, friends and supporters.

We seek to bring you the spirit of our Fellowship's Legacies of Unity, Service and Recovery from this humble community and to promote connections to those in other areas of the state and whence you come and wherever one finds us.  We hope for and pray for blessings upon each and all who come forth to join us, "as we trudge this road of happy destiny."
